- In 2015, Andy gained public attention when he made a YouTube video and tweeted about being "ashamed to work for the BBC" for nominating "homophobic and misogynistic" Tyson Fury for Sports Personality of the Year award.
- He received the most nominations out of all the housemates in his respective series.
- On Day 29, Andy was reunited with his then-boyfriend Ed during the "BB loyalty points" task. Shortly after Andy pressed his button to turn around, Ed proposed to Andy. This marked the first ever same-sex engagement on Big Brother.
